    3. Hi, Ann.....with as many choices in names as there were and with so relatively many fewer people, isn't it a shame that there could be two William Kilgores about the same age?!! My guy is the one shown in the 1850 census, but some of the dates I have are different than yours...also a couple of the children's names...For your William and Mary, I have Dorian and Millissa. My informations says that Mrs. Kilgore, born in Tenn., was a Patton, daughter of John Patton and Sarah Langston Patton. My direct ancestor - or tress - was Elizabeth Kilgore, born in 1836 and died October 25, 1882. She did indeed marry Wiley Davis, son of the Rev. Robert Davis and Zilpah Snow. Wiley Davis was born March 22, 1842 and died June 15, 1905...both buried in Key Hill Cemetery. Their daughter Matilda Davis married John Newton Cannon. Their daughter, Ethel Irine Cannon married Denver Cleveland Covin, my grandfather. Clear as mud?! Wiley E. Kilgore was born in 1837; John in 1839;, Penina R., born August 29, 1836 and died March 15, 1916. She was married to James Wesley Swindle. I'm coming to visit my kin in Walker Co., next week - and to attend the dedication of the Confederate grave marker at the Black Warrior Primitive Baptist Church....my cousin James Blackston was instrumental in getting that marker for his ancestor. I'm so looking forward to it! Thanks. Paula
