    3. I am a grandson of Richard, a brother of Young Marion Ivy. Yes, Young Marion served in the Union Army, but his Dad, Richard Ivy, served in the Confederate Army. Young Marion also changed his name from Ivy to Ivey because he was tired of being called a plant. I met Young Marion Ivey, Jr. in the late 1960's when we lived in Huntsville, Alabama. My Dad and Mom knew him when they lived north of Jasper in Walker county, Alabama. He died 22 Nov. 1972 He really liked to go deer hunting and he went hunting when he was 85.
