I looked round and talked with some of the old Prisoners. I found we were in prison no. 3. It was an enclosure of about four acres and contained 69 mess rooms which, with a forced effort, could be made to bunk 20 men. We formed a mess by order of the Provost, and was put in the next highest number to those filled which was no. 37. AL JOHN 9 b. AL MARY 7 b. AL JOSEPH 5 b. AL MARTHA 3 b. AL They would have another daughter, NANCY J, not yet born Son, THOMAS R. KILGORE was on the following 1860 census in Fayette Co;, AL. Living with him were two sisters, MARY J. and NANCY J. Presumably their parents were deceased by 1860. What happened to all these children? After that1860 sensus, he THOMAS R. KILGORE married MANERVA STUDDARD, a daughter of SAMUEL STUDDARD and second wife, MARY A. COOPER. He died serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. No issue. The marriage was indicated in SAMUEL STUDDARD's Claim before the SCC. Ann S.
