    1. [ALWALKER] Your PATTON Connection
    2. Hi Paula: Would sure be interested in sharing PATTON info if you are. Minerva would be my 1st cousin, 5 times removed by my calculator, so I'm sure it's the same family. I saw a post in this same batch that talked about a William KILGORE born in Greenville SC in 1818---suppose that's the same William that married Minerva PATTON in Walker Co.? Thanks Ed Waller Virginia > From: "Dan & Paula Harry" <DHARRY@pa.rr.com> > To: <alwalker@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, October 26, 2008 2:22 PM > Subject: Re: [ALWALKER] ALWALKER Digest, Vol 3, Issue 67 > > > > Okay....Penninnia's sister Elizabeth Kilgore married Wiley Davis and they > > were my great, great grandparents. > > > > I have 2 husbands for Penn. 2. Paula. the Patton family also married into the Hanley/Handley family. Be interested in any information you have on Newton Patton and Jane Hanley, thought to be the daughter of Thomas Hanley Sr. of Walker County. I have found researchers looking for a Thomas Hanley that marries a Patton girl. John Hanley listed in the home of Jane Hanley of Blount County in 1850 is in the homes of Jane Hanley Patton in 1860 after Jane Hanley's death in 1859. In 1870 this John is in the home of Issac M. Hanley. Tying this relationship together. In 1860 William Wallace Davis and Elizabeth Jane Hanley Davis are living next door to Thomas Jr. (Tom Bully) Hanley in Fayette County married to Mary Earnest. How likely would it be for her to be his sister? Jane Hanley b. 1805 brings her family back to Fayette County before 1859. You will find all this group conjured together for several years. Jane is buried in the Old Lebbanon Cem. Elizabeth Jane Davis and James P. Hanley are together in Double Springs, Winston Co. (Brother and sister) home of Manly Davis. Both die there and are buried at Union Grove Cem. tying this widow of William Wallace Davis to children attributed to both Thomas and Jane Hanley. James Hanley 56 Beat 10, Walker County Mary Hanley 42 John N. Hanley 19 James I. Hanley 15 Isach T. Hanley 13 Lucinda A. Hanley 12 Susan A. Hanley 6 Eliza J. Hanley 4 George W. Hanley 1 Thomas the elder is not in Walker County in 1850 but all of his children remain. Isaac M, James P., John, Andrew and Elizabeth who are with widow Jane of Thomas in Blount County. I think somehow Jane was family connected to John William Hanley in Blount as a sister-in-law. Jane moves back to Fayette County before 1859. She dies there in 1859 Hanleys married into the Earnest family as late as 1880 when Isaac Beaugard (Bowie/Bouy) son of Isaac Mitchel and Jan Huitt Hanley married a Jane E. Earnest. Parents, Isaac Mitchel b. 1833 (Tennessee) and Jane Huitt Hanley lived in Beat 10, Post Office York. Isaac B. D.Hanley had a twin, Sarah Lucindy Savanah Ann who married Marion Washington Gurganus, Son of William Davis Gurganus, son of John Wesley Gurganus. I have Sara LSA and Marion's marriage record. It was difficult tying this family together as Isaac M. Hanley list these twins in the 1860 census as Nancy and Andrew. Isaac Beaugard is listed in the census as Ike, Isaac, Beaugard and Bowie/Bouy. Isaac B. also named a daughter Sarah Savana Hanley as did Andrew Tolbert Hanley. Name: Isaac B Handley Home in 1900: Mullenax, Tuscaloosa, Alabama Age: 38 Estimated birth year: 1862 Birthplace: Alabama Race: White Name: Buragart Handley Age in 1910: 47 Estimated birth year: 1862 Birthplace: Alabama Home in 1910: 1-PCT, Walker, Alabama I come down the line through Isaac Mitchell b. 1833 and Jane Huett Hanley's son William Clark Hanley/Handley who left Walker County after 1880. William Clark Hanley married Martha Julie Brown of AL. Bible records indicate that William Hanley that goes to Texas before 1850 from Walker County was a son of a John Hanley . This Wm Hanley can be located in the Red River County, Texas Census of 1900. He did not die in Yell County, AR as once thought. I hope someone can pick up on this Hanley line and help me clarify what I have concluded, not proved. I was able to get from Arkansas to Alabama through Bible Records found in my mother's Bible.
