    3. Do you know why William KILGORE and wife, Minerva (PATTON?) named a daughter," PENINA" after the wife of John BLACKBURN? JOHN BLACKBURN, age 68, born VA, and wife, PENINA, age 50, b. GA, were on the 1850 census, Walker Co., AL, District 11, Family #84 were living two houses away from William KILGORE and wife, Minerva. No children shown with the Blackburns and his wife, 18 years younger, was probably a second wife. I would have guessed that it was because that William KILGORE's wife, Minerva, was a BLACKBURN. in lieu of a PATTON. The name Peninia or Pennia, etc. was not a common one so there must be some sort of connection. Are you certain that Minerva was a PATTON? Ann S. 3. Hi, Ann....Certain? Nooooooo - and not sure at the moment where the information came from. I will have to check further and see what I can find out. Maybe they were just good friends and not related.....I confess to not always being careful about citing sources when I first started this project. Thanks for the input....I'll see what I can find out. Paula
