    3. you asked <<<<Does it have the same info as the Death Index ending 1959>>>>> It has more information than the original death index on microfilm [and ancestry.com]. It lists age at death, spouse and parents' names, etc. There is still some information which it does not list, but so much more than the original index. you asked <<<<do you know if it is going to be for sale>>>>> It is FREE online at the LDS website. Go to FamilySearch at http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp Click on the "Search Records" tab, scroll down to "Record Search Pilot" and click. Then click on North America on the map. From the list, click on "Alabama Statewide Deaths 1908-1974" and the search box will come up. One can put as much or as little info in the boxes as desired. I have just put a surname and the results covers the entire state. Put a surname and county and only those in that county are listed. Add a year range to narrow it down a little more. Also, I have used a first name only with a death year to find someone whose name was listed a little different from usual. Different combination of info in the search boxes will bring up different lists. I have found some hard-to-find persons by varying the info in the search boxes. Hope this helps, Melba Clark ----- Original Message ----- Subject: Re: [ALJEFF] AL Death index is extended to 1974 > Does it have the same info as the Death Index ending 1959, do you know if > it > is going to be for sale > ----- Original Message ----- > Subject: [ALJEFF] AL Death index is extended to 1974 > | Here is good news for Alabama researchers. > | from Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter at > http://blog.eogn.com/eastmans_online_genealogy/2009/05/familysearch-record-search-update-2-million-records-added.html > | ----------begin copy---------- > | The following announcement was written by FamilySearch: > | Two million new records were added to the FamilySearch Records Search > pilot.
