Have you tried searching for Kilgo where you expect these to be? I am kin to Kilgo's in Winston & Walker counties. My understanding is that as they moved west some of the family dropped the "re", some didn't, but they are all the same family. Both spellings are listed in the same areas on the census. Supposedly Rebecca was from Bibb County according to her death certificate. On his death certificate (d.25 Dec 1916), William was listed as a miner, and he had lived in Cordova, Walker Co., AL, for the last 15 years. This information indicates that he moved to Cordova in 1901. He was 72 years old, and his father was listed as Will Kilgore, and his mother was Mary Kilgore (married name I imagine) who was born in SC. I can't find them on any census record until 1910. They were living in Walker County, but did take a wagon trip out west for a few years, but came back around 1901, so that is the reason he had been living in Codova since 1901. I suppose they may have missed the 1900 census due to traveling, but they should have been on the 1870 and 1880 census, but I sure have not been able to find them.
