Seems like there are more questions. For all of your information, "Gene did not call Dilworth Church of Christ Cemetery that name". This is the name that is in Craig Remington's Book, which was supplied to him by Lisa Franklin of "Tracking your Roots", plus several other people and groups who also have first hand knowledge. I have double checked my information and have learned that no one as far as I could find out, called this cemetery "Phillips". I have tried to research each cemetery and learn of the original name, before someone "renamed" them. I have found this problem on many several occasions while doing my research. I am sure that Floyd Guthrie will verify what I am writing here as he and I have had this discussion on many occasions. I think if you check, Phillips Freewill Cemetery has been called Dilworth Cemetery most frequently. Getton Cemetery or Jetton Cemetery was called Borden Cemetery simply because the first sheriff of Walker County is buried there and I could cite many others. As far as two cemeteries at Phillips Freewill Cemetery, that is correct. The other cemetery is located behind Dilworth Church of God and the name of it is Lee Cemetery. Phillips Freewill Cemetery was only two acres of land donted for a freewill cemetery. Then Lee Cemetery was created to expand the cemetery. You will find all of the above on my "Cemeteries of Walker County, Alabama" map if you should be able to find someone that has one, or it is also found in many libraries. Now, if anyone should have any question concerning any cemetery that I have researched, please feel free to email me at my email address and I will assist in any way possible as I have doing for many years. I have a copy of the Cemeteries of Walker County in the Atlas book, be glad to make a copy and send it to someone who knows how to mark the individual cemeteries, it is a big book so I don't think scanning would do much good. delilah ----- Original Message ----- From: <genegravlee@att.net> To: <alwalker@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 05, 2009 11:51 PM Subject: Re: [ALWALKER] Headstone Repair and Cleaning Workshop | Seems like there are more questions.
