Sara, Mike Knight was searching for his grandmother Lucy Blanton Knight and Charles Arthur Knight. Lucy was from Oakman. Somewhere down the line Julius Arthur Knight married Lortha Ellen McGowan who were the parents of Michael " Mike" Duane Knight. David Knight (b. circa 1810 d. 1892 Alabama) and Therbia Spears Knight came out of S.C. They came thru Perry County, Ga. One child was buried in Cedartown, Ga. They came into Alabama, and they and their descendnets could be found in Cullman Co., Jefferson County,St. Clair and Walker Co.. I have the book of Descendancy Charts on the Knights that Mike did, but he did not do an index. There are over fifty pages. Also, I knew the Glenn Gant family from Oakman. He is deceased, and do not know if any of the Gant family is still in that area. Glenn had a son named John. Sorry. I know that is not much help. Bobbye **************Recession-proof vacation ideas. Bobbye, thanks for your help on this. I would love to see Mike Knight's Descendncy Charts on the Knights. Glenn Gant and my mother, Clemmie Gant Latham, were first cousins. Most of the Gants have moved away from the Oakman area. Neighbors on both sides of my mother's family's home near Oakman were Blantons (Sam Blanton family). I hope to attend the WCGS meeting on Thursday.
