    1. Re: [ALWALKER] Request from ALWALKER listowner: what families areyou working on?
    2. I'm interested in the Tidwell, Morris, Posten, Hubbard, Jackson and Goad lines. Most especially, I am trying to determine how and when William David Morris' second wife, Seretha Jane Posten died. She was alive in the 1900 census, but he remarried by about 1906. Am also trying to determine when my gg grandmother Elizabeth Jackson Goad Romine died. She was married to William Canterbury Romine in the 1880 census. Would love to hear from any researchers in my lines, but especially Jackson, Goad and Posten. Or any of the descendants of William David Morris still living today. Dorothy Duke Rhodes

    3. Hi! I'm a descendant of John Harvey Morris and Catherine Hubbard. William David Morris is John Harvey Morris' grandson....son of Green Morris. All I have on Seretha Jane Posten is that she was born in February of 1867 in Fayette Co., Georgia and died between 1900 and 1904 in Walker Co. Her parents were John Posten and Nancy Bearden. I also have that she married William David Morris in Walker Co. I have a good bit on the Morris's and the Hubbards.....glad to share! Let me know if you have any questions. Paula

    3. True.  But maybe it was because my great great uncle, Richard Ellis, was on the board of registration.  [ Not. ]    http://wcgs.ala.nu/1867vote.htm    His Southern Claims Commission file is interesting.  I suspect his claim to loyalty relates to his place as registrar. [Richard Ellis  9 Feb 1831 - 1 Feb 1898  m. Ellen Eliza Bennett 1832-1924]   I don't know --but I suspect-- that unionist sympathies made migration west more likely.    I'm likewise suspicious that many were ambivalent like another mentioned kinsman, Young Marion Ivy, who said he "crossed the lines and joined the Yankees."  He left the 56th, some would say deserted. Warren Hill Ivy also served in the 56th.  (Ivy =Ivey) wk --- On Sat, 10/25/08, hjwwilson@aol.com <hjwwilson@aol.com> wrote: From: hjwwilson@aol.com <hjwwilson@aol.com> Subject: Re: [ALWALKER] 1867 Walker Co voters IVY (Ivey) To: weskeat@prodigy.net, alwalker@rootsweb.com Date: Saturday, October 25, 2008, 4:47 PM Winston County, Al. did it the same way.
