Is anyone familiar with this man? He was the second husband of Catherine Elizabeth Kiker Kirkpatrick. They were married in Jul 1895 and he died sometime after the birth of his last child in 1901 and the 1910 census. I'm pretty sure they were married when he died (her death certificate indicates she was widowed twice) and that he is likely buried in Walker County as the family appears in the Walker County census in 1910, 1920 and 1930. Catherine outlived him by many years (she lived to be 101) and is buried in Birmingham. I am interested in knowing when he died and where he is buried, if anyone can help. Thanks. sallie cox

Catherine Elizabeth KIKER was a twin to Martha Ann, b.June 6, 1859 in Winston County, AL. She married Rubin AVERY. Hi, Cousin Joseph ~ thanks for the reminder of the films at Wallace State. I used those before I learned about the ones in B'ham since I'm much closer to B'ham. I've found that having the index and listing the certs you need to find beforehand saves a lot of time when you get to Wallace or B'ham - your search info is already before you and sometimes I've found that more than one certificate is on the same roll when scanning the dates If making your own copies at the FHC in B'ham the copies are ten cents each. At Wallace they use the honor system, also, and I think they request about the same amount per copy. Unless the person is a direct line ancestor I just write the info while it is on the reader rather than making a copy. Caroline [ The index of death certificates from 1908 to 1959, Alabama Death Certificates, has been put on microfilm and is in the Ala. The Cemetery Atlas is just a map for each county, and a list that refers to the cemeteries in that county and is numbered to reference as to their location - in the description of each cemetery, they do list some names that are related to that cemetery, those are not many - not the ones that died between 1908-1958 (Alabama Death Index) you should be able to get death certificates (There is a woman who will copy them for $3. the state charges $12.) and it should tell you the place of burial, now a lot of cemeteries around Jefferson County, Walker County that was where the mining communities were located, well those cemeteries are not kept up and a lot of them has just dissappeared. I had an uncle die and he is buried at a cemetery in Empire, way out in the country, but close to hiway 78 and Walker Cty. delilah ----- Original Message ----- From: "David & Barbara Jones" <jonesdb@earthlink.net> To: <alwalker@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, November 29, 2008 8:46 PM Subject: Re: [ALWALKER] Liberty Grove Cemetery, Nauvoo, Alabama | Would your Cemetery Atlas for Alabama have anything for my grandfather, | Jesse Albert Johnson that was buried at Empire in 1935?
