    3. Did you see the information that I published under "Early Settlers" on the Walker Co., AL, US Gen Web site? If not, that is a good place to start. Was your maiden name McDade, etc.? How far back can you trace up the McDade line. Give me something to work with and perhaps I can link you up or help you bridge the link to Samuel. I think genealogy is a wonderful and educational hobby; yet, it is inexpensive. I will look forward to hearing from you again. Elvira Traywick Feltman was my ggg grandmother; she died 6/24/1901 at the home of her son-in-law (the O'Rears, if I remember correctly), in Haleyville, but the obituary was in the Mountain Eagle on July 3, 1901. She is buried in Files Cemetery. She was the mother of 15 children, including daughters Martha Jane (who married Files), Sarah (who married O'Rear) and Nancy Margaret (who married Burdick). * * * Sallie, I will be at the state archives this Friday working on a project for the Ala. Genealogical Society. I checked online and that edition of the paper is on microfilm. I'll get a copy of the obit for you and will email you directly so that you can send me your mailing address. 3. I don't live in walker but have you talked to the Mountain News? A small paper where I lived has sent their papers off to the UFL and they plublished them online. I have been researching their paper like crazy. Daily Mountain News might have done the same thing. She is buried in | Files Cemetery. She was the mother of 15 children, including daughters Martha | Jane (who married Files), Sarah (who married O'Rear) and Nancy Margaret (who | married Burdick).  I have a general transcription of the obituary and used | to have a copy of the obit (I think) but I have looked for months and cannot | find it.  The Jasper library is not open on weekends and I was  told requests | were not handled via phone. | | I've got a good handle on the  Kikers I was looking for, who moved from | Walker County to Oklahoma, and now I  am looking into the same thing for Manascos. | I have seen information alleging  that Catherine Elizabeth Kiker's first | child, General Lee Kiker, was the child  of John Manasco who was a farm hand on the | property next to her home (they  never married), and that some Walker County | Manascos also migrated to OK.  Catherine Kiker married and was widowed twice | after that. but she stayed in  Walker County. So I am looking for the Manasco | Cemetery and any information on  Walker County Manascos that moved to OK in the | early 1900s. | | Thanks for  any help on these two issues. | | | | **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above.
