Actually, we're less than an hour away from Luling, TX and Old Highsmith Cemetery where our common ancestor, William Guttery is buried. I'd like to visit this cemetery on Memorial Day, next Monday. The problem is I don't know exactly where it is. I even contacted the GenForum person, who didn't know. She gave me some general directions, but admitted that she had searched for it, but had never found it. Have you ever visited this cemetery? Do you have any clues as to its whereabouts? Bob Groves needs 'invite' to WCGS. My Family is blocking me once again - anything which goes 'thru' any address containing the words 'my family' is blocked, and they include a message saying "your privileges have expired, you must PAY $29.90 to reinstate." No matter how much time I spend explaining it's WCGS I seek, and that I am a current active member, after a short time they block me again. It seems their system searches for some e-addresses, then blocks them ( I had dropped my 'direct' membership with My Family some time back)

They have a circulation that goes outside of Walker County and folks with local ties to Walker County will run obits in the Daily Mountain Eagle. Hi Ora Mae----a blog is different from a website because it allows for everyone to put their opinion in. It allows for discussion of genealogical interesting events and issues and study. Often people can share info and photos and data by their posts. Lets say you wanted to share a picture of your Great Grandfather and his years serving in the military. On the WCGS site you can post the photo and then each member shares what they might know or other photos they might have of interest. There is the opportunity to learn more about what is happening with so with the same regional interests. I was fortunate to make exceptional friends and friendships that have enriched my life and my study.
