There were several books on the Frost/Jenkins family you are talking about on the shelves in the Lurleen Wallace Library. This is not my same Jenkins line; but I have collected some information on them. Will be out of State for 2 or 3 weeks but if you have something specific I might help you with, let me know. Ann S. I am interested in the Robbins, too. I have a Samuel James (Sam/Mickey) Robbins who married Alabama (Bama) Stacha McNutt on 17 Nov 1895 in Winston Co., AL, but they lived in Walker Co. all their lives in the Oakman area. The McNutts were from Winston County. Samuel was born 26 Aug 1877 in Walker Co. and died 16 May 1963 in Walker Co., AL, and he is buried in the Earnest Chapel Church Cemetery, near Oakman (southeast of), Walker Co., AL. I am seeking the name of his father. I believe his name may have been James, but I can't seem to find him on the census records. The name of his mother was Mary Ann (Molly), I believe. About 5 years after Samuel's father (possibly named James) died Mary married William Alexander Pugh. They had Melvin, David, Charlie, Leonard born ca 1926. Leonard was enumerated with Samuel J and Alabama McNutt as a nephew on the 1930 Walker County, Alabama Census. Does anybody know the name of Samuel James Robbins' father or maiden name of his mother, Mary Ann (Molly). Thanks, Davine In a message dated 5/20/2009 8:07:36 P.M. I'm not quite sure where Sipsey is .... I have one picture of some unidentified Phillips and I'm told they were on the Sipsey bridge. Some of my Phillips are buried in the Phillips Freewill Cemetery aka Dilworth Cemetery, most are in the Phillips Family Cemetery near Empire. I just brought up a couple of their census records, the 1900 has them in Dorris (LOL), the 1910 also says Dora. Earlier census records just seem to list Walker Co. or eastern division of Walker County. Do you tie into the Phillips? > Kat were your Phillips brothers from the Dora, Sipsey, Sumiton triangle? > > > Bobbye
Like some of my kinfolk I mentioned, maybe ambivalent or reluctant partisans-- The B Co. muster records list him deserted as of July 1, 1863. Can anyone do a marriage lookup for me? My great-Uncle Earl Phillips was born in 1906 and died in 1932. I had always thought he had never married until my Uncle Charles passed away and his wife gave me the family pictures that he had. I was showing them to my grandmother, Martha Elizabeth Phillips Berrey (97 and still kicking!) and she told me it was Earl and his wife Jewel. She doesn't remember Jewel's maiden name and I love to have that information. I'm not sure what year they married, my grandmother believes that they had not been married long when Earl died. Thank you, Kat Reece

His son John Henderson Wilson was born 1839 in DeKalb Co., AL. He was listed as Elijah Willson in the 1880 Walker Co., AL census. Any connection? Lynda Langston Fredendall

Wes, You mention two names that I am related to. Y.M. Ivey and Thomas Richard Ivey. Y.M. is my great-great grandfather, and helped found the church I grew up in as a child in Jasper. I tried to access the tree you mentioned at ancestry.com. but I am not sure how to do it. I can tell you that the Nelson/Wilson/Ivey families are still closely related in Walker County. Anyway, it sounds like we are distantly related by marriage, if I understand your post correctly. So, nice to meet you. I am researching for my cousin who now lives in Texas. His daddy; Douglas Floyd Kimbrell was born and raised in or near Jasper. I think he had a bunch of brothers and sisters. Could anyone help me?
