Ok people, don't panic, somehow I can't get to the Alabama rootsweb list, so now I have arranged me a new e-mail address and will be unsubbing from the rootsweb lists and resubbing with my new e-mail, not much changing as it is diamond6468@cox.net, so if you see me unsubbing, don't worry, if this don't work, I will just quit - pass this to anyone you think may be letting me help them, may take a few days but this is only going to be my genealogy lists, I hope it works. Reminder of the Confederate Memorial Service for Confederate veterans, special mention George Blackston, buried at Old Warrior River Cemetery on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 3:00 PM. Come to the Old Warrior River Cemetery and brings your friends and wear period dress if desired. Otherwise come as you are. The John Hutto Camp #443 will be officiating with color guards and rifle company salute. This promises to be a fun and educational time as we remember those honorable veterans that gave so much for their country. If anyone desires to give a short talk about the history of Old Warrior River church and cemetery, we would be more than proud to listen and learn. Let me know so I can put you on the program. A caravan is traveling together leaving from Son's Grocery at the 4-way stop in Parrish. We hope to leave Son's parking lot at 2:30 PM passing by Franklin Ferry turnoff about 2:45 PM. I have a fifteen (15) passenger van and anyone is welcome to ride with me, as long as seats are available. Come join the caravan and tell all your friends and relatives. Hope to see you there. thanks I kind of thought my ggg grandfather Lewis was born out of wedlock, I've never been able to find much out about that. He married Susan, Greenberry his 2nd oldest said his mother Name was Frost that's what his oldest son Daniel put on his death certificate. I have not been able to find anything to that fact. Edward Benton had a family bible I believe but not sure that is said to have that info in it. In 1880 Levi was 18 and Greenberry was 11 so that would have made him born around 1868 and Levi was born around 1862. Greenberry married Letta in 1890 I found their wedding certificate it was a probate judge who married them. They had Daniel Jacob 14 June 1892 Annie Marie 1894 Mary Ellen 25 September 1900 before going west to Oklahoma. There they had the rest of their children. I have started a web page from the informaion I collected. Sincerely Julie Mangum Hedberg On Tue, Jun 9, 2009 at 4:15 AM, Ann S.
