She married James Thomas Caples 25 February 1883 and they made their home in Tuscaloosa County. They were parents to 8 children: Jefferson Davis, Martha, Thomas Lee, Mary Ann, Vera, Max Morgan, and twins Pearl Elizabeth and Earl Alexander.
