    1. [ALTUSCAL] HAYWOODs of Alabama and North Carolina; PRINCEs of Alabama; STEWARTs everywhere; CLEMENTS
    2. DS
    3. Afternoon, 1. Looking for any information on HAYWOODs, which may have been connected with CLEMENTS/CLEMMONS, STEWARTs/STUARTs, HOGANs, PRINCEs, and other families originating or heading west out of Wake County, North Carolina in the late 1790-1810 timeframe. (See paragraph four below.) 2. One of my Solomon Stewart's (married Sarah Hogins/Hogan/Harkins) sons, my GG Grandfather, is named Franklin Haywood Stewart. One of Solomon's purported brothers, William Stewart, I believe, (married Mary Hogan), named his son Franklin Haywood Stewart. 3. Rebecca Stewart Clements married a Mr Prince. Rebecca Prince was an executrice on the will of a Dr Rufus Haywood who died in Tuscaloosa, I believe. She is named in his will in Tuscaloosa, AL, dated August 25th, 1873, along with her possible sister Arabella T. Prince, bequeathing all of his property to them, referring to them as "my relatives". Witnesses to the will seem to be John B. Read and A. T. Prince. Rufus Haywood dies on/about 22 July 1883, and the will appears to be probated in the fall of 1883. Known relatives are listed but not all are readable: - Dr. Richard Haywood - Frank Haywood - ?Lucius/Lisa? ?Bazor/Haywood? - ?Miss? ??Mariola?? Haywood - the children of Delia ????Bazor/Haywood)?? - others unknown ..... residing in the state of North Carolina Another document names the same people and notes them (or just the children of Delia) as residing in North Carolina. The same document seems to mention that A. T. Prince is dead. Document seems to be dated August 6 16 or 26, 1883. The will or notice thereof was apparently published for 30 days in the Tuscaloosa Times (sometime between (22) July 1883 and August 22, 1883). 4. The following three HAYWOODs are listed in RANDOLPH FAMILY CEMETERY HALE COUNTY ALABAMA (ALA 929.3 Hale Co.), a book I believe I found in the Alabama Department of History Archives in Montgomery, AL: "NAMES AND DATES FOUND ON TOMBSTONES IN THE CEMETERY GREENSBORO, ALA IN HALE COUNTY" (this is possibly page 11 in the book; a gray book about 1/2 inch thick, about 10 x 14 inches) John S. Haywood Born - Wake County, No. Caroline - 1801 Died - 1875 Dr. Wm. D. Haywood Born - Wake County, No. Carolina - 1814 Died - 1859 George W. Haywood Born - Raleigh, No. Carolina - 1802 Died - 1890 5. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Dick Stewart Colorado
