    3. Hi Ira, 1. During this limited exchange of emails on Haywood - Prince - Stewart - Clements, I think I'm getting that Arabell Prince was the daughter of Ann Stewart (Clements) PRINCE. 2. However, I noted in earlier emails that in one part of my docs dated Aug. 1883, it appears that (A.?)[hard to read] T. Prince is dead. 3. You have an Arabella R. Prince, which in your descendancy, puts her as a daughter of Ann Stewart Prince. 4. I just got further info: - 1870 census Tusc. Co. AL Ann Prince, (husband not listed, having died in 1863), keeping house, is 35, with two children Clemmie S. and Isabella; with Arabella PRINCE age 65 and a boarder; as well as Rufus Haywood, age 69, retired physician. - 1880 census Tusc. Co. AL Anne Prince age 46 widow farmer, with son Clement, Arabella PRINCE, age 75, wid. m-i-law, and Rufus Haywood, age 79, cousin physic., plus cooks and laborer - additional info that the mother of Oliver Thomas Prince, husband of Ann Stewart Clements Prince, possibly had a mother named Arabella Lawrence (presumably her maiden name). - More info that Ann and her husband Oliver are buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Tuscaloosa County. 5. So, what I read from this is that: - there could be two Arabella Princes? One for sure is the mother-in-law of Ann Stewart Clements Prince, i.e. Arabella ?Lawrence?. - Dr Rufus Haywood was a cousin of Ann. I take that to mean they had a common grandparent? On Ann's side, it's surnames Clements and Flemming? On Rufus' side, it's Haywood and ?Because of the significant age difference between Ann and Rufus (about 35 years), how to assess the term "cousin"? - The 1870-1880 scenario seems clear: Ann's husband died years ago and his mom winds up living with Ann, and Dr Haywood, who apparently never married, is living with his cousin Ann. But, why? - Ira, I wonder if your Arabella R. Prince could be Isabella Prince, daughter of Ann? Isabella was with her mom, age 12, att. school, in the 1870 census, and was not in the Ann Prince household in the 1880 census (would be about 22 yrs old). Any ideas? "nuff for now", Dick Stewart ======= IRA WROTE: ======== In my database I found the following line of descent: Jeremiah & Edy ( )Clements Francis & Ludia Vaughn (Blayton)Clements Benjamin & Grizzell (Coleman) Clements William & Frances (Powell) Clements Benjamin & Susannah (Hill) Clements Isaac & _______ ( ) Clements Reuben E. & Elizabeth A.
