Lewis, 84, of Comanche died Wednesday, Jan. 9, at the De Leon Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Comanche Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche. Mr. Lewis was born May 9, 1917, in Comanche County to Joseph L. and Cecyle G. Keeter Lewis. He married Isla Leo Lane on Feb. 14, 1936, in Comanche. She preceded him in death on April 11, 1972. He was a farmer and rancher for most of his life. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Howard James Lewis Jr. on July 1, 1967; a brother, Bill Lewis; a grandson, Kirk Seider; and a granddaughter, Patricia Jackson. Survivors include two daughters, Myrt and husband Bernell Jackson and Elane Seider, all of Comanche; four grandchildren, Kent Seider of Comanche, Shanon James Lewis of Bandera and Daniellia Kay Hesson and Donya Rae Long, both of Round Rock; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Elbert Lee Lewis of El Paso and Allen Rosser of Stephenville.
