Can anyone tell me what "Castle Hill" was on 10th AV Tuscaloosa? This being in the 1850 time frame!!! Is there a "Castle Hill" today? I have a note saying that is where my G-grandfather's people were from. Thanks, ~Sue~

Prior to about 1955 Castle Hill was a black neighborhood community on both sides of 10th Street (now Bryant Drive) and between 10th (Bryant Drive) and University Blvd.. Located adjacent to the Ft. Brandon Armory facility prior to its demolition and the building of the current Tuscaloosa Fire Station #2. The community started near the entrance to Bryce Hospital on present University Blvd. up to about the DCH Regional Medical facility. Maybe some one could look this up in one of the books re history of Tuscaloosa for us. Charlotte [email protected]
