Hi, I just joined this group today hoping to help find more about my ancestors. My question is about my ggg-grandfather Hiram Roberts born 1807 in Greenville, S.C. His spouse was Mary (Polly) Ayers born 1805 in Greenville, S.C. They migrated to Paulding county, Georgia and show up on the 1850 census there. Then in 1860, they show up on the Jefferson county census around the town of Warrior. Next I have them on the 1870 census in Tuscaloosa county census near the town of Elrod. I don't have anything after that point, so I presume that they died after that point in time and are possibly buried somewhere around Elrod, but don't know where. Hiram Roberts was a farmer and a doctor so there must be something showing up in Tuscaloosa county about him and his family, but I haven't found anything. Can anyone on this list help me make a connection that might help in my search? I have a webpage on Rootsweb of my family genealogy that gives more details if you want to take a look and see if you might have a connection at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jrob/roberts.htm Take care, James Roberts
