Dear Folks, Having recently been questioned about my transcript of Wilson Cemetery, Samantha , Alabama I did find a few errors (mainly in an inscription that was buried in mud) and also decided I needed to explain for some readers how I grouped married couples giving additional information for the benefit of those who may not already know their relationships. Therefore I have revisited the Wilson Family Cemetery and guarranteed that my information is correct. I have satisfied the lady's misunderstandings, I hope sufficiently, and have included here the corrected second version of my transcript of The Wilson Family Cemetery, of Samantha, Alabama. Two other criticisms I explained. I do not publish exact maps or directions to old churches or cemeteries in order to protect said sacred places from vandals. If you legitimately visit the area you can ask. Many kind people, possibly relatives will direct you to find your way. One tombsone had disappeared since I had transcribed the cemetery the first time. I have no controll over that. It is a shame. But that is happening in these old cemeteries. This is why we must do our part to save carefully and concisely a permanant record of our history. And at the Wilson Family Cemetery there was a pile of old crumbly stones that I could not read, whose message has already been lost. My pardon if any one has been confused by my first transcription other than this one lady. The End *Note: I have listed husbands and wives connected together with an ampersand - & - when they are buried next to each . This is for the purpose of helping the researcher correctly connect marriages. This does not signify a double tombstone. **Names in ( ) I have written out of my personal knowledge to help the researcher where there was only an abbreviation or no information at all.
