I want to thank everyone that responded to my email, I tried to thank everyone individually but in case I missed one, thanks to all for your help, I now have information that the brother Solon Crain had been living in Tuscaloosa working for the E-Z opener bag company since December 1928 and then married Beulah Thompson July 6th 1929 in Clinton, Greene County and continued to live in Tuscaloosa after the marriage, I have still been unable to find out if they moved after 1944, or when Maurice came to live with his brother and what happened to him, but hoping can find some kind of record soon. Does anyone know if there are city directories available? Jean Hello, I am needing help, I have been looking for a Maurice McCord Crain for about six years now, I have finally found his father and have his obit that states in 1944 his son Maurice was living in Tuscaloosa Alabama, this is the first clue I have gotten as to the where abouts of Maurice. I am needing to know what kind of resources are available to find out how long Maurice was here and any clue as to where he might have gone, he might have even died here also will need to know where to find these resources. I have not done any research in Alabama so not sure where to start, I know some states are really hard to research records in this time frame without being directly related. Maurice was my grandmothers first husband that abandoned her and his kids. I am trying to find out what happened to him for my aunt (his daughter), my uncle has already died, so hoping to find him before something happens to my aunt. He was born in 1906 in Illinois, I think he died in 1960 but do not know for sure or where. I do know in Illinois he worked as a electrician, so probably also had a job here as a electrician. According to his fathers obit, he also had a brother Solon Crain that was also living here in October 1944. any help would be appreciated. Jean Rowcliffe in Colorado
