The 1880 census for Smiths (precinct or twp) in Tuscaloosa Co., AL shows the following: WARD, H(enry) T(enel) age 27, coal miner, born AL Margaret (JORDAN) wife, age 23, born AL daughter Ida age 3 born AL son William Henry age 6 mos born AL SHELBY, Martha, Grandmother, Widow, Age 77, born NC Does anyone have any other SHELBY's in this area? I think she is probably H. T. "Dan" WARD's grandmother because we have not turned up any SHELBY's in the JORDAN line, but she could be either one. Hugh T. "Dan" WARD and wife Margaret JORDAN are buried at Coaling Cemetery. Thanks for any input. Evelyn
