I am looking for the Kay family from Tusculoosa in the 1860's and maybe 1870's. My GG Grandmother was Emma Malissa Kay and she married Richard Newman Little who was also born in Alabama. I was told that Emma became an orphan as a child and was raised by the Little family. I don't know how old she was when this happened. Emma was born on August 12, 1862 in Tusculoosa, Ala. and died on Jan. 15, 1913 in Burlington, Texas in Milam County. I have no idea who her parents were but she had a brother named Elijah Kay who was born in 1861 in Ala. and a younger sister named Lucy Kay who was born in abt. 1865-67 in Ala. and she had a sister, think she was older named Mary Kay who married John Wesley Little, one of the older Little boys and they married and lived in Chickasaw Co., Mississippi. I don't know anything about Mary Kay except that she died young and that it is also said that John Wesley Little also married another Kay sister but no one knows what her name was. I am thinking she was also older then my Emma Kay. I have looked in Tusculoosa, Ala, township and there are no Kays there and am now looking at other townships and have still not found any Kays in 1860 in Tusculoosa Co., Ala but have quite a few to still go through. I have gone through Tusculoosa, Adison, Bells, Blockes Beat and Carthage so far. Does anyone know of any Kay's in Tus. in about this time period? Jane Little McEndree [email protected]
