Does anyone have any info on Gamble family. I'm looking for the family whose daughter married Lemuel Knowles, possibly in Ga. William Gamble left will in 1850 Tuscaloosa naming his "brother Lemuel Knowles." DJ
The Eggers are an old and well-known family here in the Columbus area. There was an Egger's clothing store downtown for many years when I was growing up, and one of the teachers at the high school was a Caledonia Egger. I just checked the phone book and there are still 10 Eggers living in Caledonia, and 2 living in Columbus, one of whom is named Dayton. Email me separately at gboggess@cs.msstate.edu if you want to know how to contact them. - Gene Boggess -----Original Message----- From: Jan Ashford [mailto:Jan@theAshfords.org] Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2001 12:44 PM To: ALTUSCAL-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [ALTUSCAL] Eggers Family Just out of curiosity I looked up Eggers on the 1880 Mississippi census CDs. Over the last couple of years I have corresponded with a few folks who were researching the EGGER(S) line and I thought I'd pass this along via the list because I no longer have email addresses for them. My mother, who is 90 years old but sharp as a tack, was doing a little reminiscing and just happened to mention that Claude Egger who married into our WARD line and was probably born ca 1880, had 2 brothers named Rushton and Clearman Eggers. She also said either Rushton Eggers or Clearman Eggers had a son named Dayton, and that they all lived in Columbus, MS. I am not researching EGGERS except for the incidental connection, but thought this might be helpful as far as census records and location was concerned for those who are. Evelyn Leslie
every one up date your anti virus.....and be aware and alert........ kim Dec. 4 - Security researchers are warning computer users about a new virus that is spreading rapidly across the United States. The virus - called "Goner" - arrives as an e-mail, masquerading as a note from a friend with a new screen saver attached. But it's really a malicious program that attempts to delete antivirus software as it infects victims. Goner is "wreaking havoc," according to one researcher, having already infected thousands of computers at major corporations. The virus arrives with the subject line "Hi." The message body says: How are you ? When I saw this screen saver, I immediately thought about you I am in a harry, I promise you will love it! The attachment, which actually contains the virus, is called "gone.scr." Goner spreads in the familiar way, by grabbing e-mail addresses from the Microsoft Outlook address book and sending itself to every entry. Most antivirus products have been updated to detect the program; users are advised to update their anitvirus products immediately.
