    1. [ALTUSCAL] CEMETERY LOOKUP
    2. Hi, I am looking for the grave marker information for Ramie or Raymond Patterson. He was born about 1903 in Cullman County, AL. He had a heat stroke, which resulted in mental problems. He was admit to Brice Hospital in Tuscaloosa County, AL. Is there a cemetery book available for Tuscaloosa? Is there a separate cemetery for Brice? I did not see this on the Cemetery list for Tuscaloosa. I have no clue as to the cemetery he is buried in. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Karen Smith IL

    1. [ALTUSCAL] Samuel and Martha-Jefferson Bell Walker, of Revolutionary Times in Edgefield SC
    2. Samuel and Martha-Jefferson Bell Walker Revolutionary Times in Edgefield SC:  The Mysteries and the Mistakes!   For several months now a group of researchers has been working to put together a well-documented family outline for Samuel Walker, Revolutionary Soldier of Edgefield SC, his wife Martha-Jefferson Bell Walker, plus their children and grandchildren.  Their eight children married into the BEAMS, HOLLOWAY, EDDINS, MITCHELL, FARROW, and MAYS families of the late 1700s and early 1800s in Edgefield.  The families moved during the early 1800s to several Alabama counties.   Another tradition has one of the daughters married into the MCCARTY family.  Many researchers have contributed data, suggestions, clues, etc. and we are extremely grateful for all input. We have now input the information we have collected and posted the register-format family tree at: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/r/u/s/Judith-F-Russell/index.html Please take a look and let us know what you think.  We sincerely invite your input with additions, corrections and comments.   We want to fill out the missing gaps as to children and grandchildren and correct any mistakes.  We particularly want as much documentary evidence (wills, estates, deeds, etc) as possible. Our primary goal is to find the correct ancestry for Samuel Walker Rev Sold of Edgefield, born about 1745.  Possibly someone in the associated families has the clue that we need.   You would have our undying gratitude if you could provide any information to put us on the right track.   (A timeline of the life of Samuel Walker, Sr., as we know it, is also on the www site. Lists of neighbors, etc are provided.  Our best Clue:   He had close associations with Joseph Walker, Granville Co., NC, who married Elizabeth Clarke and with Joseph's children James, Rachel, and Hezekiah.)   Thank you very much.   Please let us hear from you!   Judy Russell (jruss95@aol.com) Frances Bateman Debby Carmichael Martha Easter Shirley Nobles Erickson Mary Anne Price John Rountree

    1. [ALTUSCAL] Wilson Cemetery,Tusc CO, AL
    2. Dear Folks, Having recently been questioned about my transcript of Wilson Cemetery, Samantha , Alabama I did find a few errors (mainly in an inscription that was buried in mud) and also decided I needed to explain for some readers how I grouped married couples giving additional information for the benefit of those who may not already know their relationships. Therefore I have revisited the Wilson Family Cemetery and guarranteed that my information is correct. I have satisfied the lady's misunderstandings, I hope sufficiently, and have included here the corrected second version of my transcript of The Wilson Family Cemetery, of Samantha, Alabama. Two other criticisms I explained. I do not publish exact maps or directions to old churches or cemeteries in order to protect said sacred places from vandals. If you legitimately visit the area you can ask. Many kind people, possibly relatives will direct you to find your way. One tombsone had disappeared since I had transcribed the cemetery the first time. I have no controll over that. It is a shame. But that is happening in these old cemeteries. This is why we must do our part to save carefully and concisely a permanant record of our history. And at the Wilson Family Cemetery there was a pile of old crumbly stones that I could not read, whose message has already been lost. My pardon if any one has been confused by my first transcription other than this one lady. WILSON FAMILY CEMETERY SAMANTHA, ALABAMA Est. 1865 The Wilson Family Cemetery is located off a gravel road near Samantha, Alabama.
