I live in Dallas so I have no way to check with the probate office or to see who lives on the property now where Solomon and Jane Lacks lived near Jackson't Gap Al. I don't understand why if Solomon and Jane Lacks owned land then why is it then when he died in 1854 was he able to leave most of their land to his three brothers in Virginia and only left Jane a small section of land to live on. I know that back then every thing was in the husband's name but it seems like she would have owned at least half of the land but maybe back then it did not work that way.
