    3. Hi Rooters, This is a little off the normal roots subject but I feel it will be helpful to all those people that aren't able to get to a major library or National Archives. The granny's are a group of elderly ladies that look up genealogy for others, for as little as $2.50. They go to the National Archives in Denver, or the Denver Public Library almost everyday of the week. It keeps them busy and they enjoy helping others. The monies they get they either spend on lunches or parking or purchasing CD's or microfiche to continue with their research. I first sent a letter for them to the NYC root-l mailing list and they got quite a response. We also had other retired folks expressing their interest in helping with the on going tasks, so we are extending their help to others. My name is Jim, and I am one of the granny's sons. I do the computer work for them. If your looking for some help, give these ladies a try. They will do you a good job. We are looking for other retired folks around the country that would like to participate with the granny's in their local research. Local directories are a great source for finding people and the grannies get a lot of requests of that nature. I have set them up this E-mail address of granny4you@aol.com on my account. Sincerely, Jim (the cheap labor for the granny's---haha) but glad to help.
