Hello again fellow list mates. I have found the following information in a book called Alabama Records Vol. 212 -- Tallapoosa Co, AL. It is as follows: Page 99 of book -- Marriage Book page 166 -- Jackson JOHNSON to Nancy MILNER 6 Oct 1845 (solmnized on 7th) by D.B. CULBERSON, M.G.; William J. HUMPHRIES, bondsman. Page 100 of book -- Marriage Book page 168 -- William J. HUMPHRIES (also to Nancy E. MILNER written HUMPHREY) 28 Oct 1845 (solemnized 30th) by A. BURNS, J.P.; James F. BRAY, bondsman. Now a question or two -- What is a bondsman? What did it mean "also to Nancy E. MILNER"? Were these two Nancys cousins? Strange isn't it, but interesting. William J. and Nancy E. are my ancesters. There has been mentioned by other family members that William's mother's name was JOHNSON. That happens to be William's middle name. I have been unable to find wither William or Jackson in any 1850 censuses. I find William in TX in 1860 and 1870. Nancy died on 22 Feb 1853 in Tallapoosa Co, AL. William latter married a Sarah E. WHEELER and they left AL for MS then to TX. I would appreciate any info on these people or any help in solving where they may have been in 1850. Thanks for your time and good luck and good hunting in all of your researches...John Lowery
