In the early 1900s my Grandmother received a letter from her sister in Dadeville, and in it Aunt Exie mentioned Gresham Davis - that he was in town but she had not seen him. We have a lot of "missing" family members and I have wondered if he could be a descendant of one of my missing great-great-uncles. I am descended from JOHN DAVIS and wife Rachael Greer who married probably in Laurens Co, SC about 1820. Their children were: Martha, Joseph G, William W., John Daniel, Susannah, James A., Margaret Priscilla, Thomas Alexander, Samuel H., and George Washington Davis. We don't know what happened to William W, James A, Margaret P, and Samuel H. Some of these could have moved to Tennessee like Thomas Alex. did.
