Area he lived became Elmore Co., Ala in 1866. "First" wife unknown. Probably "second" wife was Priscilla Chambers b. abt 1792 whom he married in Chambers Co., Ala 1839. Watson b. 1837 Ala never married. James Thompson, wife Priscilla, and daughter Mary were charter members of Good Hope Baptist Church which was founded 1 Oct 1847. The church is located (still active) in Section 1, Township 18 North, Range 20 East, on the road between Tallassee and Wetumpka, just east of the intersection of the road running north to Eclectic. The church when founded was in Tallapoosa County, now in Elmore County. Charter members were: James THOMPSON, Sr. and wife, Pricilla, and daughter, Mary Elizabeth J. Calving INGRAM and wife, Mary.
