I am not the list maintainer for this website, but I am a list maintainer for three RootsWeb lists. Tim, the computer guru at RootsWeb is working hard to fix this problem. He is trying to see how it got through his filter. The situation on this site was worsened when everyone started reposting the offensive mail. If you ever see SPAM on a RootsWeb site, the place to report it to is NOT the list, but to ABUSE@RootsWeb.com. This mail that we all received yesterday was forwarded to Tim within 30 seconds of receiving it. Tim has been working on the situation. If you ever need to reach a list maintainer for any RootsWeb list you belong to, the easiest way is to use the list REQUEST address and in the subject line write "attention list owner" . Then in the body of your message, write whatever you have to say! Guarantee it will get their attention!
