Hi Jill and the rest, Sorry, I had a typo for the Indian Census sites, it should have been /~maillist/. Try this URL for the long way: http://www.rootsweb.com/ then click on MAIL LISTS, then ETHNIC LISTS. After all of that, you should be at this URL or the short cut: http://www.rootsweb.com/~maillist/ethnic/index.html You can then subscribe to the list of your choice, or click on the the URL that is under your list or copy it for later use, and then go directly to the site you seek.
