    2. Hi, I am researching the Henry Jackson PICKARD family and have been at a dead end for quite some time. Henry Jackson PICKARD b. 18 Sept 1810 Ga. Married: 22 Dec 1846 Dadeville, Tallapoos Co. AL. to Ellen Mary GOODWIN (EVM) b.11 Dec 1917. Children: Mary Francis John Robert Lucinda Jane (Lucy) Nancy Elizabeth (Bettie) Edwin Wiley (Ed) William Henry (my line) Judith Ann (Anna) James Allen Sarah Shackleford (any Shackleford connection out there?) Martha Caroline (Mattie) The H. J. PICKARD family left Al. ca 1865. Spent some time in Mississippi, H.J. PICKARD died 19 Mar 1889 in Pecan Gap Texas. The Census of 1860 & 1880 state that Henry's father was born in North Carolina, and his Mother was born in Georgia. Ellen Mary GOODWIN's parents were William H. GOODWIN b. GA. d. 1868 & Mary ___ b. Ga. d. 1860. Henry Jackson Pickard was a Farmer/Attorney. Names associated with H.J. PICKARD through the many mortgages that he held: Alexander G. PEDDY, Thomas M. NELSON, Lewis KENT, A. G. PEDDY, Eldridge CASON, W.W. GRICE, William BURNETT, Sinthy BURNETT, Charles JORDAN, James ALLEN, Peter E. HARRIS, Elizabeth A. MAPP. He was appointed comissioner of roads for Tallapoosa County Al. in Dec 1837. If you have any information, I would greatly appreciate any clues however slight they might seem.
