Dear Groups: The Alabama Dept. of Archives & History had a training workshop today, Mar. 26, titled: ADAH/GSU LOOSE RECORDS MICROFILMING PROGRAM COUNTY VOLUNTEERS' TRAINING WORKSHOP. I was able to attend and impressed with the program. I asked that they explain the program to all the Alabama e-mail groups and maybe they will, but basically, they are seeking volunteers to go in and get these records together according to their guidelines and then the Genealogical Society of Utah will go in and film them. Now, maybe all our records will be preserved and Salt Lake, Alabama Archives, and our local counties will have copies. Won't that be great! Now is our chance to do something about this as volunteers are needed to help get this in order.
