    3. Bobbye: I suggest you go to a law library. Look at a set of books called something like....the Acts (laws) of Alabama. The law librarian will be able to point you in the right direction. For someone to run a ferry, they would have had to have a license to do so. The license would be granted by the state. A record of the legislature voting on the approval of the license to operate a ferry over the river would have been in the legislative minutes. Thus, they would be listed in the Acts of the state.
