Below are a couple of tid bits from The Camp Hill Times. I had this collection typed on my HP computer, but lost the information in Hurricane Katrina. I will post a few of these from the hard copies every now and then. Larry Camp Hill Times March 1, 1901: (Thaddeus) Crawford WILKERSON, one of our best citizens, died of heart disease on the 19th. Mrs. Nancy NEWMAN, sister of Dr. W.F. SMITH, also died on the same date. March 8, 1901: We are sorry to note the death of Mrs. J.B. BLANTON, which occurred at her home near here February 28th. Truly she was a good Christian woman and will be sadly missed in the home and at church where she was ever true and faithful. Hon. F.L. PETTUS, speaker of the House of Representatives, and son of U.S. Senator PETTUS, died in Montgomery at 6 a.m. Wednesday morning of heart failure.
