George Benjamin "Mike" Hughes joined the Civil war withthe 47th Alabma Infantry Company F. Tis regiment was comprisef from men from Tallaposa, Co.AL. He was captured at the Battl oe of Gettysburg, and taken as a POW to Ft.Del. Delawer. He died ther of Small Pox on December 26, 1863, and is buried at Finns Point National Cemetery in New Jersey. I am looking for his ancestores and htose of his wife.Clara G.M.Baggett ... she was born ca. 1840, and it is bleieved that she had the nick nmae of Cherry baggett. I am todl that her Mother died when she ws very young and she ws raised by her step-mother, who is blieved to be a Native American. She has half brother by the union of her fatehr Allen? Jacob Hughes 1817-1910 Susie {maiden name ?}Hughes 1817-1916 both buried at the Liberty Hill Cemetery between Millerville and Ashland, Alabama.
