Dillard, the son of Lydia Duckett and Samuel Dillard married a Mary C. Hancock in Tallapoosa County in 1853. Perhaps her middle initial was an L but looked like a C. If this is the same person, then he is the brother to my great grandfather, Thomas Milton Dillard. He was born March2, 1834 in South Carolina. If this is your James M. I have lots of info on his family. He is buried in Dillard Cemetery in Alexander City, AL.
