I am also a descendant of William Walker and Nancy Conine. Their daughter, Sarah H. "Sallie" Walker married Nathan Shepherd in Feb. 28, 1839 in Troup Co., GA. Nathan Shepherd was previously married to Elizabeth Bently and they had 6 children. Nathan and Sallie had 2 children. Sallie died Aug. 22, 1886 in Simsboro, Lincoln Parish, LA. Land records show Nathan Shepherd purchased 596.32 acres of federal in LA. Sept. 15, 1854. He died May 20 1859 in Claiborne Parish,LA. 1850 census shows Sallie living in Meriwether Co., GA. 1870 census shows Sallie living in Clairborne Parish, LA 1880 census shows Sallie living with her son William David Shepherd Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Simsboro, Lincoln Parish, LA. Incidentally, Sallie's younger sister, Eugenia Irwin Walker who married James C. Driskill Dec. 15, 1840 in Troup Co., GA. also lived in an area nearby named "Driskill Mountain", highest point in LA. Eugenia died in Arcadia, LA in 1903. James Driskill died in 1901 in Arcadia and is buried in Driskill Cemetery on Driskill Mountain in Arcadia, LA. Also, Sallie and Eugenia had a brother, John F. Walker who married Nathan Shepherd's daughter,( by his first wife), Elizabeth Caroline Shepherd Apr. 18, 1839 in Meriwether Co., GA. and they too, lived in Claiborne Parish, LA. Land records show he purchased land in 1852, 1854, 1856 and 1858. I am pretty sure all these records are correct as they came from the Shepherd's and Driskills. Regards, Bobbie Walker Wynn
