Full name was James Soloman Allen s/o Thomas GRIFFIN and Martha FRITZ, b 24 Dec 1833, d 12 June 1900, buried Rocky Mount Primitive Baptist Church. (I visited site in 2002). James married 1 Frances J. Ransom, b 03 Oct 1830 GA, d bet. 1854-56 prob in Tallapoosa Co, m 22 Dec 1853 in Tallapoosa Co. I do not know if there were any children from the first marriage. I presume she died in childbirth. She was the daughter of James Ransom and Julia Holloway. On 19 January 1856, James S. A. Griffin married 2 Annie E. Ransom (sister of Frances J.). Annie was b 19 July 1835, d 12 June 1900 and is also buried in Rocky Mount Primitiave Baptist Church. They had at least the following children: Sophronia, b abt 1856, AL (might be child of James & 1st wife, Frances J.)
