    2. In your book, is there any information about the Thorton family? or Eden? Looking for THORNTON history.......and info on Adelah H. EDEN........Adelah was the daughter of Reverend James G. Eden in Alabama---anyone know of this family, or have a way I can research it? My great grandfather James Thomas Thornton was born in Alex City, Alabama, Dec. 3, 1878......His parents were Willis Russell Thornton born in Georgia April 10, 1832....and married Adelah H. EDEN, Dec. 29, 1868.....Adelah H. Eden was born January 22, 1845 and she; they are both buried at Fish Pond Baptist Church, Coosa County, Alabama....... All I have about Adelah is that her parents were Reverend James G. Eden and mother, Harriett.......I have no other info, or history on that family........... A piece of family history says that Willis Russell Thornton's mother's name was Mary, born about 1810 in Georgia.......... Willis Russell Thornton' family history said he died at home in Alex City in 1905..I have a photo of his tombstone from Fish Pond I took........ My great great grandparents had the following children, All born in Tallapoosa County: 1. Ola born 1870 and married Suzie McClelland buried at Fish Pond Baptist Church Ceme. 2. Exa Maie born 1871, married Jim Welch buried in Wharton, Texas. 3. William Harrison born 8 July, 1873 married Lula Carter. 4.. James Thomas (my great grandfather) born 3 Dec., 1878, married Mary Ann Dean 27 Nov. 1896. Died 23 April, 1951, Houston,Texas. 5. Mollie born 1879 and married Tommy KNowes and bured in Jackson Gap, Alabama. 6. John Henry(Sandy) born 15 Feb. 1886 and married Ester Conner; died 22 March 1955 and buried in Houston, Texas. The information came from the 1880 Census Recores of Tallapoosa County, and the Marriage Record Book 'D", Coosa County. I am looking for info on Willis Russell, info from the civil war on Willis Russell Thornton. He was a private in Co. C, second Regiment of Louisiana.......not sure why he went there but know he was shot in the knee August 29, 1862 AT Manassas............and discharged Oct. 3, 1864, according to family researchers. Julius H. Thornon enlisted Sept. 10 1861 in Tallapoosa-14th Alabama Volunteers Company H. called Jackson Avengers..........and wounded in leg and hand at Fredericksburg, Va. and also shocked by explosion of shell at Gettysburg, July 3, 1863.
