    3. Corporal James R. Scott of Company A, 47th Alabama Infantry, died during the war, date and place unknown or at least unrecorded in his Confederate service records from the National Archives. They were usually pretty good about noting in the records people who were killed in action, which leds me to believe he probably died from sickness. A pension record for his widow (if he had one) might provide more detail.
