I have a Green V. Horsley, born about 1830, probably in Tallapoosa Co. who moved to East Texas. It seems that this branch of the Horsley family along with Thomas Jefferson Moon, throw in some Allens, Davises, Greens, etc. made it to this area of Texas. Is this Green Horsley related to your William? ----- Original Message ----- From: bubba59@alltel.net To: ALTALLAP-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, February 12, 2006 9:28 PM Subject: [AL-TALLAPOOSA] Heard and Horsley This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Visit http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnispublic/ to try it out. A search for "new providence" in Alabama -- not specifying anything else -- produced a list of 17 results. That list shows New Providence and a same-named church in Tallapoosa County. It also shows (at the end of the list) a historical post office entry in Crenshaw County. That would appear to confirm that it no longer exists. = Steve =
