This Walter and Maudie May Speakes had his father Leonard Oliver Carthon in 1912, but Walter died in storms so the story goes. Haven't found anything on his existance whatsoever other than a delayed birth certificate of Leonard Oliver Carthon that states his father was from South Carolina, born in 1890. Maudie May married Ransom Meadows in about 1914 a couple of months after she had another child then married Luther James Jordan prior to the 1920 census. No records of the Meadows marriage either.
