    3. I am seeking more info on the marriage Of Henry Jackson Taunton b.1838 Ga. and Martha J. Crow B.unk. The 1860 census shows them living together in or near New Site or beat 3 Tallapoosa Co. One of their children, Sarah Cooper Taunton (my grmother m. David Newman) The only other reference I have is possibly another child that was murdered in 1937 by a fellow named Crow, possibly a cousin, over a cotton deal. He would have been an old man at the time. Would like to find the remainder of the children from this TAUNTON/CROW marriage and more on both their parents, esp. Martha J Crow. Any and all help appreciated and will consider paying a FHS to do this work. Best Regards, Dan Cadenhead

    3. There will be a meeting at the Jameson Inn at Alexander City,Al, Tallapoosa Co on May 28th at 4:p.m. to get the group organized for the Heritage book for that county. This is to elect officers, i believe. As to who can contribute.....ANYONE with ties to the county u want to contribute to. I have done 3 articles for St.Clair Co. and am planning on doing one for Tallapoosa,Talladega, and Shelby. If u had ancestors in the county prior to 1890, u may submit 1000 words and 2 photos. If they were there aft that yr, then 500 words and 1 photo. U may put extra photos in for 12.50 each and extra words at 10 cents a word. U may write abt a church history, club, organization, etc, also. U are allowed (free) 250 words and 1 photo for that.Additional words and photos are the same as for family history. The photos must be good quality. I scanned two of mine and they were acceptable. The books are hardbound 9x12 and stamped in gold. They are very nice books. St.Clair's is 48.60 if u pick it up, 52.60 if mailed and if u don't buy bef May 31st, the cost goes up 10. more dollars per book. If any of u can't find the address on the net, i have some of the addresses for abt 5 of the counties. Talladega and Calhoun Counties have extended their deadline 'til July 31st. I may be wrong, but think i was told that Tallapoosa's deadline would be last of Sept. I am really excited abt the book, because this may be the only chance some of us will hve to get our families recorded. I keep putting off, surfing the net, e-mailing, and not getting my "book" compiled. So, at least there will be something recorded of mine and my husband's families. I am planning on getting one for each of my 3 children, also, for Christmas gifts. Whether or not the children are interested now, they may be later in life. That's abt all i can think of on the book right now. My husband and i have these surnames in Tallapoosa County: NICKERSON/STANFORD/STRONG/SHEPARD/MCKELVEY/EASTER/CRADDOCK/SMITH/PATTERSON Pat in Pell City,Al
