    1. FAULK, Sarah Ann b. 1838
    2. Hello, I am looking for information about Sarah Ann FAULK, born abt. 1838. She was the daughter and oldest child of Richard M. FAULK and Jemima EVANS. Sarah Ann FAULK married John Monroe FAULK b. 1840. Their relationship before marriage, if any, is unknown. They had three children: John Monroe FAULK, Jr. born 1860, Martha Caroline Louvenia "Carrie" Faulk b. 1862 and David Lawson FAULK b. 1867. By 1872 the children are described by the Tallapoosa County courts as "orphans" and are placed under guardianship. Any information about this Tallapoosa County, AL FAULK family would be so welcome. Thanks, Nancy Pressley

His daughter Elizabeth E. Evans1831-1865 was married to W. M. Dunson. They were my gg grandparents. She died and is buried in Troup Co. I am seeking more knowledge on this Evans family. W. M. 1. Denton and related families
    2. Sue Cook
    3. Hi! I thought I would let y'all know that I have a lot of Alabama families represented in my database at my web site for the Denton and related families. There are over 15,000 people in the database, plus a lot of other information on the site. If any of you have Dentons in your lines, I would love to hear from you! There are also some down-loadable gedcom files for families other than Denton that I have in my at-home database, such as Hunt, Moore, Plumlee, Cooper, Chastain, O'Dell, French, Shipman, Baker and Huff. All of these families intersect in some way with the Dentons, but have a great deal more information in the individual gedcoms than is on the database at the site. There is a lot of other information on the site as well that you might find interesting, as well. The address is: http://www.acun.com/dentons I hope you find something of value! Blessings! 2. Dan and Linda Walters
    3. I am interested in any data on the family of Hugh Lockett 1802-1858. His son, John Lufsy Lockett 1827-1890 was my grt-grt grandfather. Both Hugh and John L. were born in Georgia and died in Tallapoosa County, Al. John L. served in the C.S.A. The only papers I have show him as a Conscript in the 1st Alabama Regiment. Does this mean he was drafted? John's son, ABNER BRAZEL LOCKETT, 1855-1926 was born in Tallapoosa County and married Carrie Louise Adams in 1875. Their first child was PEARL ELIZ. LOCKETT born in 1878. I believe the family moved to Texas around 1885, but I can not find them on either the Texas or Alabama 1880 Census. Were there any locally taken Census or Tax Reports about this time, where Abner B. might be listed. I am trying to find out if she was born in Alabama or Texas. Would there be any birth records at this time? 2. To all who are interested in the Tallapoosa County Heritage Book: I spoke to a gentleman who works with the Heritage Publishing Company. He says that there will be another attempt at getting organized for the Tallapoosa County book. They will meet again in October at 7:p.m., where they met at 4:p.m., the last time. He hopes this will be a better time for those who work to make it to the meeting. I look at it this way.....we will have more time to write our articles and get them ready for the book. I feel they will eventually have everything organized & set a deadline for submissions to the book. Will post any other info i can get as it becomes available. Pat Weaver

    3. The committee for the Heritage Book for Tallapoosa Co. has not been formed yet. There have been several attempts at forming the committee, but there have not been enough people coming to the meeting to do that yet. The company is going to try again later this year to once again form a committee. I have attended several committee meetings in Marion Co. and this was the latest information from the company. I do not know how the company goes about getting information out about the formation of a committee. Have a great day, Jack Shotts, Sr.
