Thanks. Names were somewhat variable back then it seems. My mother was baptized "Zaira" but died Sarah, for example. My father spelled his name Bononno and I've seen both "Bonanno" and "Buonanno" cited on ship manifests for Ellis Island. Thanks much for the tip to the Web site.
