Hi Jack, If I remember correctly since I have not used Brothers Keeper for quite sometime, you ought to be able to split off the part of the family that you wish to add to your current data file. When you split off the branch you want you will need to put this into a separate folder or directory ( you need to call it something meaning full but different from your current file on that family. Secondly if I was in your shoes I would ensure that you import this split off branch into a copy of your own family file and play around with this as this is the safest method just in case things do not go as hoped. Failing the successful splitting off of the branch in Brothers Keeper you what the next best option that I think you can do is Download Legacy SE which is free, you will need to register online which is free as well. GEDCom both of your files import these into Legacy SE as two separate databases and in the database that you wish to split out a branch find the person and family/ies you need to split out note the RIN's for the heads of each family ancestor then GEDCom those ancestors and their descendants. When you have done this import the new family database into the copy of your family Database that you have now in Legacy. From there you ought to have the options of merging duplicates if there are any. If I remember correctly Brothers Keeper does not or did not have this capability that is merge duplicates I mean. Hope this helps some. David
